Pressure die casting

High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC)

The process of HPDC forces molten metal at high speed, and high pressure into a closed steel die cavity at pressure ranging from 0.7 to 700MPa.

HPDC can produce large, light-alloy parts in high volumes at great speed and efficiency. The HPDC process also delivers parts with superior surface finish, excellent uniformity, and optimum mechanical properties.

Wolfson offers HPDC in both hot chambers and cold chambers, our HPDC machine capacities range from 150 tons to 1600 tons, with product weights range from 20G(0.7oz) to 20KG(45LBS).

Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC)

In LPDC process, the mold is typically mounted above a sealed crucible containing molten metal.  A riser tube is connected the mold and extends into the crucible.  Then air pressure (0.015-0.1Mpa) is applied to the molten metal in the crucible and forces the molten metal into the cavity bottom up through the riser tube.

LPDC is a productive process and can provide tight tolerance, high quality and great material efficiency.  Wolfson LPDC shop can produce castings weight from less than 1KG(2LBS) to 100KG(220LBS).
